Shipping and Receiving Supervisor jobs in Bossier City, LA
Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Thorough knowledge of the team processes. The role of the Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is to perform a variety of tasks in receiving and shipping parts, and assist counter salesmen when necessary.
- Receive all parts that are shipped in, making sure they are received in good condition and packing slips match the part and quantity actually received
- Pack and ship parts to outlying customers in the most efficient manner
- Maintain a log of all outgoing shipments to
- Stock all parts in the parts warehouse after they have been checked in
- Assists Counter Salespeople when needed
- Operate fork lift truck when necessary

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have good organizational skills
- Experience dealing with the public in sales/service capacity
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
