Shipping and Receiving Clerk assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment. Receives, unpacks, inspects and stores incoming materials and supplies. Being a Shipping and Receiving Clerk uses shipping records to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders. Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Clerk typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. A local and established scale manufacturer in the Sheldon, IA area is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join their growing team. This Shipping and Receiving Clerk works on a team and independently to deliver, sort and process UPS and freight in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Enjoy working in a climate controlled environment!
Responsibilities:- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Schedule outgoing freight and insure all paperwork is in order.
- Oversees all loading and unloading of freight trucks.
- Use forklift to load and unload freight trucks if necessary.
- Check and inspect contents of incoming/outgoing packages for damages and accuracy.
- Perform simple clerical work.
- Enter incoming parts and materials into inventory and notify the proper individuals.
Requirements:
- Able to drive a forklift
- Have good PC skills
- Able to use Quick Books and shipping software
- Able to lift and carry 50lbs.
