Shipping and Receiving Clerk 1st Shift- 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday |
1. Operates forklift trucks or hand trucks to move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
2. Picks, scans, moves and palletize spools to be shipped.
3. Loads and unloads trucks using forklift or pallet jack.
4. Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
5. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and stock room supplies.
6. Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods including warehouse software.
7. Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
8. Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
9. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
10. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
11. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
12. Having knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing is a plus
13. Be part of a continuous improvement team and actively participating in projects.
14. Required to make pickups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company pickup truck.
15. Must be flexible for overtime and be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
