Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Invariant Corporation is seeking a skilled Shipping and Receiving clerk to oversee the day-to-day operations of our shipping and receiving department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all incoming and outgoing shipments, managing inventory control procedures, conducting quality inspections, and providing support in various other operational tasks as needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise all aspects of the shipping and receiving department.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee inventory control processes, including tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and maintaining accurate records.
• Perform quality inspections on incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
• Perform market research to identify potential suppliers/vendors capable of meeting government requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and optimize efficiency in the shipping and receiving workflow.
• Troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, inventory, or quality control and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records in accordance with government standards.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by management to support overall operational objectives.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in shipping and receiving operations, inventory management, and quality control.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Extreme attention to detail and high level of accuracy with effective organizational skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work efficiently and effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills

• Additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Jamis Prime ERP System
• Active secret security clearance or ability to obtain.
• This position is expected to be performed only in the state of Alabama.
