Shipping and Receiving Clerk assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment. Receives, unpacks, inspects and stores incoming materials and supplies. Being a Shipping and Receiving Clerk uses shipping records to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders. Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Clerk typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Overview:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerks perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. In performing day-to-day, routine tasks, the Contractor follows established USCG guidelines and policy. In handling unusual non-routine problems, the clerk receives specific guidance from Comptroller and Base Operations Department personnel.
