Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. Under the direct supervision of department supervisor in a manufacturing environment an individual in the warehouse department receives, stores, and distributes material and products within the warehouse and production areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. Shipping individuals prepare and package final products to ship to the customer. Previous experience is preferred, but not required, we will train the right candidate.
