Shipping Specialist jobs in Massachusetts

Verifies and keeps records on outgoing and incoming shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Core Duties:

• Communicate, read and write in English
• Understand and follow written work instructions and processes to move materials, per specifications, meeting deadlines and quality requirements
• Complete required paperwork and ensure process consistency
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office products, ERP systems, customer portals, FedEx shipping)
• Able to manage multiple priorities at one time
• Keen attention to detail
• Capable of managing heavy workload while under tight time constraints
• Keep work area organized
• All other duties as assigned including housekeeping and helping out in other areas as needed

• Education and/or Experience: High School diploma required or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Key Competencies: Working independently, customer centricity, collaboration, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), advanced critical thinking, problem solving skills, leadership and participation. Ability to use ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs effectively. Continuous improvement skills and experience is essential.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales orders, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Reasoning Ability: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software, Manufacturing software, Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software and Internet software
• Physical Demands: While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with arms and hands. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
