JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for vessel crewing operations across all Tropical ships which includes all functions of crew management specific to : managing labor contracts, crew payroll, and other Human Resources related aspects.
Manages crew labor contracts by reviewing all internationally required marine licenses, certificates, and training. Creates, calculates, and processes payroll for crew in conjunction with the Tropical payroll department.
Represents Tropical Shipping and works directly with third party entities such as the vessel's flag state, the vessel classification society, and manning agencies.

No supervisory responsibilities. Assists in the preparation of departmental budget.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes payroll for crew, by reviewing labor contracts and time sheets for information into AMOS and ShipMoney software.
Maintains and inputs crew personnel information, including transfers, new hires, rehires, leave of absences and terminations.
Arranges, maintains, and coordinates documentation and arranges crew medical treatment as directed.
Processes timely crew leave letters along with all other required correspondence, passports, seaman's book, and VISA's.
Handles clerical and administrative functions in the marine personnel area.
Processes and prepares monthly vessel fleet report.
Performs all other assigned duties.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE : Three to five years payroll processing experience plus one year of Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
LICENSE : Valid local driver's license.
