We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee our shipping operations. The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring efficient warehouse operations, and improving shipping processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, warehouse management, and inventory control.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of shipping associates, providing guidance and support as needed
- Oversee all aspects of the shipping process, including order picking, packing, and loading
- Ensure accurate and timely shipment of products to customers
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate shipping schedules and resolve any issues or delays
- Implement and enforce safety protocols in accordance with OSHA guidelines
- Optimize warehouse layout and organization to maximize efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate stock levels
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to increase productivity
- Maintain relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers as necessary
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or shipping environment
- Strong knowledge of logistics and warehouse management principles
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software
- Familiarity with inventory control practices and materials handling equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
