Ship Engineer jobs in Decatur, IL
Ship Engineer repairs and maintains gasoline and diesel engines in boats, such as yachts, tugs, and trawlers, following specifications. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field. Being a Ship Engineer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Ship Engineer performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Requirements and Qualifications:
- Able to work 40 hours weekly
- Car or daily prompt rides to and from work
Salary and Incentives
- Hourly wage with overtime pay to start. Will qualify for our Incentive program once certain milestones are met.
- Holiday Pay: major holidays and a week break from Christmas to New's Day (after 3 months of employment)
- 5 days of paid time off (after 3 months of employment)
