Additionally, Sheriff/Police Chief typically reports to an elected official. The Sheriff/Police Chief manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Sheriff/Police Chief typically requires at least 10 years of law enforcement experience. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:- Manage one or two person field crews for both public and private sector projects
- Complete topographic and route surveys using total stations, GPS and three-dimensional laser scanning surveying equipment
- Operate and maintain survey equipment such as three-dimensional laser scanners, GPS units, total stations, data collectors and digital levels
- Provide guidance and support to other field and office survey technicians
- Stake right-of-way parcels
- Read and interpret road plan sheets
Position Requirements:- Minimum 2 years as a crew leader
- High School diploma required
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Organize and handle multiple project assignments.
- Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team to achieve goals and provide quality work
