Job Summary:
The Chief Scientist is a leader in developing and executing strategic growth initiatives such as graphene-containing products, clean energy technology demonstrations, and sustainable plastics and materials.  The successful candidate will gain and execute MPI projects, work alongside project managers, and will be a scientific resource in aims to grow MPI’s project base and foster technically oriented business growth in Mississippi.  This position requires excellent internal and external communication abilities, customer service orientation, problem-solving, a broad and deep understanding of scientific methodologies, strong project management skills, and the ability to quickly get up to speed in new technologies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Advance MPI’s strategic growth initiatives and projects.
2. Externally represent and contribute at conferences, client sites, and community events.
3. Provide project and technical guidance and work collaboratively with project managers.
4. Gain and execute MPI projects independently and/or collaboratively.
5. Assist in quality and ISO activities, and performs other duties as assigned.
