Sheetmetal Mechanic jobs in Virginia

Assists in preparation, cutting, shearing and install of sheet metal components to construct finished product per blueprints and specifications.

Marks layout on Sheetmetal according to blueprints / specifications using measuring devices such as levels, tape measures, calipers, dividers, center punch and / or other equipment as required.

Fabricates, assembles, alters, repairs and installs sheet metal components and equipment as required or directed.Forms attachments, seams and joints by forming sheet metal, riveting, bolting or by fastening components in place.

Grinds and files seams, joints and surfaces using grind wheel or file.Sets up and operates Sheetmetal fabricating and forming machines and hand tools such as band saws, hand brakes, punch presses, shears, power drills or other sheet metal equipment as required.

Uses a variety of hand tools such as drills, rivet guns, screw guns, punches, etc. to form, align, create and blend seams and panels.

Perform work to timely standard and quality expectations.Account for time and work completed on weekly time sheet.Report and document basic material, production, safety or quality control issues to supervisors or management.

Work 40 hour work week, overtime as requiredInstall assemblies in supportive framework.Inspect assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.

Check each part for accurate measurements.3-5 years experienceBasic mathematical skills and knowledge in use of measurement toolsAbility to read blue prints / drawingsSkill in the use and care of equipment and tools of the sheet metal trade.Pay : $18.00 / hour
