  • Job Summary:

    Under the supervision of the Director of Contracts & Campus Purchasing, the incumbent will assume responsibilities as the Manager of Contract Administration and provide direction, leadership, supervision and coordination of procurement responsibilities within the department, primarily with a focus on contracting. This position interacts with all levels of the University, as well as vendors, SUNY System Administration, NYS Office of the State Comptroller (OSC), and NYS Office of the Attorney General (OAG). Functional responsibilities may include overseeing the effective and efficient preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Invitations for Bids (IFBs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in accordance with University, SUNY, and NYS requirements, as well as, providing assistance with reviewing purchase requisitions and the issuance of purchase orders. Responsibilities include direct supervision of staff responsible for procuring various goods/services, capital construction and related services, clinical services, and on-going process improvement to ensure efficient and effective operations. This position may oversee special projects, as assigned, and assist in cross covering other internal divisions within Shared Business Services as requested by the Director. Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related field and 3 years of relevant contracting and/or procurement related experience OR Associates Degree in Business Administration or a related field and 5 years of relevant contracting and/or procurement related experience required. Previous leadership experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, data management and computer skills required. Results oriented and meets deadlines. Strong analytical, contract, and negotiation skills. Effective communications skills required in order to collaborate with a variety of academic, clinical and business leaders across academic medical center. Must possess strong leadership, organization, and educational skills. Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Excel.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with procurement for a New York State government agency, particularly the State University of New York. Experience in negotiating major contracts for clinical services, highly complex medical equipment, Information Technology. Familiarity with similar purchasing systems including the implementation of related modules and conducting of the associated training is a plus. Bachelors Degree with 7 years of experience preferred.
