GENERAL PURPOSE
Prepares menus and meals for the senior center lunch program.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Community
Services Coordinator and Senior Program Specialist.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May direct activities of volunteers
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares menus
Purchases food for meals
Prepares meals
Ensures cleanliness of kitchen & dining room
Cash receipting for donations received
Regular and predictable attendance
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school graduation or equivalent GED.
And one year experience in institutional or restaurant
cooking.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of nutrition planning.
Basic knowledge of cooking and baking techniques.
Skill in operating commercial kitchen appliances and
equipment.
Work Environment:
Generally will perform duties in kitchen and dining room of
the senior center.
Talking, hearing, and seeing essential to effective
performance of essential functions.
Common eye, hand, finger dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for
details, verbal instructions, discriminating thinking and creative problem
solving.

Food Handlers Permit
Veteran's
Preference Points: Applicants MUST submit a copy
of their DD-214 with their application and before the closing
date in order to receive veteran's points. This is for initial appointments
only.
