Security Specialist administers, coordinates, and evaluates security programs that support the strategy, policies, and standards established for the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Compiles data and analyzes results of audits, inspections, daily logs, and incident reports to assess security vulnerabilities, measure program effectiveness, and identify the need for additional resources. Being a Security Specialist coordinates any required security clearance processing or investigative research for employees or job candidates with applicable entities. Assists with the development of training, education programs, and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is prepared for potential security issues, crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Additionally, Security Specialist monitors communications and stays informed about local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. May coordinate or assist with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Security Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Role:

    The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for the daily support of the retail bank's Information Technology software, processes, as well as, generating and reviewing of Deposit and Retail Operations reports. Reports to Rapid City Operations but can be located at any Security First Bank location.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Serves as primary support to Retail branches through email and phone communication for all retail banking services offered include, but are not limited to Savings and Checking accounts, Safe Deposit Box, Debit Cards and Time Deposits.
    • IRA and HSA Support and Management.
    • Support location with New Account Opening.
      • Account Titling.
      • Required Documentation.
      • Day 2 Check.
    • New and Existing Customer Records.
      • Day 2 check including CDD, EDD and CIP required information.
    • Teller Capture support and ITM (Interactive Teller) staff support.
    • Responsible for bank daily cash balancing, teller transaction balancing, and reporting results to managers.
    • Responsible for providing support to the Retail teams which include researching teller outages, reviewing documentation and reporting all resolved or unresolved outages to appropriate levels of management.
    • Responsible for Day 2 check, including but not limited to, new account, file maintenance, term and interest rate changes.
    • Non-post item resolution.
    • Savings Bond processing.
    • Keeps informed of changes in general banking services, processes and procedures. Makes suggestions for improving Security First Bank products and services.
    • Reviews compliance regulations and FIS Bulletins and provide recommendations.
    • Workflow management including development, implementation and training of retrial staff.
    • Assists with development of training materials and deployment.
    • Attends all BSA training (at least annual) offered through the bank. More frequent and/or specific training may be required, depending on job responsibilities. Perform job responsibilities to ensure the bank's compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures, which include detecting potential suspicious activity and reporting such activity to the BSA Officer and may include gathering and entering data into systems for monitoring and reporting.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Education and/or Experience.

    • 4-year degree with a BS or BA with an emphasis in Business Administration, Financial Accounting and/or IT preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of banking experience in Deposit Operations or Retail preferred.

    Interpersonal Skills.

    • Requires strong project organization and communications skills.
    • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work independently.
    • Excellent time management, communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.

    While performing this job the employee would occasionally be required to carry loads up to and including over 25lbs. It is frequently necessary to bend, squat, reach above the shoulder level, crouch, kneel, balance and push/pull equipment. Firm grasping/fine manipulation with the right/left hand is necessary. In an 8-hour day, the employee can expect to sit about 6 hours.
