Security Specialist administers, coordinates, and evaluates security programs that support the strategy, policies, and standards established for the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Compiles data and analyzes results of audits, inspections, daily logs, and incident reports to assess security vulnerabilities, measure program effectiveness, and identify the need for additional resources. Being a Security Specialist coordinates any required security clearance processing or investigative research for employees or job candidates with applicable entities. Assists with the development of training, education programs, and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is prepared for potential security issues, crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Additionally, Security Specialist monitors communications and stays informed about local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. May coordinate or assist with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Security Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     This is a Part-time, 32-Hours per week, in-office position, located in Kennewick, WA


    Our ideal candidate for the WorkSource Specialist 2 position is a dedicated and customer-focused professional who thrives in a supportive role. Under close supervision, this individual will be responsible for supporting all lines of business within our WorkSource office, demonstrating readiness and capability to serve all WorkSource customers.


    The successful candidate will provide direct services to both jobseekers and employers, acting as a vital link within the workforce office. They will represent our agency with professionalism and commitment, ensuring integrated service delivery to all customers.


    This role directly supports the mission of ESD by fostering connections between employers and jobseekers. The candidate will be passionate about workforce development and committed to our goal of creating successful employment matches.

    Duties

    Perform records management functions. This includes:


    • Collect, verify, and enter information into multiple data systems to report and track services provided

    • Record and maintain case notes, service plans, and exit outcomes

    • Coordinate with other employment and training programs as necessary


    Perform simple to routine supporting work following standard procedures. This includes:


    • Conduct individual interviews to articulate program services and activities

    • Explain agency programs, services, policies, and procedures

    • Answer phone calls and direct to program teams


    Provide basic services and information in the resource area. This includes:


    • Conduct a basic review to determine initial service options

    • Assist in the direction of customer flow virtually and in-person

    • Assist customers in accessing and utilizing WorkSource Washington website

    Qualifications

    • One year as a WorkSource Specialist 1 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or in an equivalent class with another state’s Employment Security agency.

    • OR
      A Bachelor’s degree in social science, business administration or related field and one year of professional experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or professional public contact work.

    • OR
      A combination of education and/or relevant experience equal to five years.


    Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:


    • Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
