Security Manager implements security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps. Being a Security Manager trains staff and establishes operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Monitors and inspects systems, alarms, and other physical security measures. Additionally, Security Manager participates in education programs and contributes to communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues. Engages with local, state, provincial, or federal authorities to keep abreast with all security-related information, directives, and events. Initiates or assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related discipline. Typically reports to a director. The Security Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. The Area Manager for River City Security and Investigations will manage and coordinate the activities of all security staff at their assigned post. They will execute all tasks related to maintaining standards in compliance with the standard operating procedures.
Duties will include:
- Supervise and manage a team of employees in multiple locations
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives
- Assist with the hiring of personnel
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a positive work environment
- Training new employees on their duties at each site and explaining company policies and procedures
- Managing paperwork as it relates to off-days, PTO, medical visits, vacation, court etc.
- Managing a schedule and filling open shifts whenever required
- Visiting 4-5 sites on each working day when not filling open shifts
Requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess an up-to-date Armed License through the Louisiana State Board Of Private Security Examiners (LSBPSE)
- Provide proof of at least two years of supervisory experience
- Prior military or law enforcement experience is preferred
- Must be flexible and be able to work nights/ weekends
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must possess a valid state-issued drivers license and a clean motor vehicle driver report
- Must pass a background/ drug screening at point of hiring
