ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

• Tour premises periodically to check doors, windows, and gates for security; monitor public access and ensure the security of all personnel and visitors.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property; report any suspicious behaviors and happenings.
• Investigate suspicious behavior, incidents, and security breaches; apprehend trespassers and perpetrators.
• Respond to emergencies and provide necessary assistance to employees and customers; obtain help by sounding alarms and notifying the police.
• In charge of the lobby desk and associated responsibilities and following associated procedures: including assisting and greeting staff, temporary badge issuance, notifying staff upon vendor arrival, and general assistance with members.
• Monitors cameras and maintains branch awareness for any suspicious or risky behaviors by both employees and members.
• Identifies areas of risk in branches and notifies their supervisor of their findings.
• Performs branch walkthroughs to identify improperly stored confidential information.
• Assists with annual branch risk assessments in providing meaningful feedback and observation of the branches.
• Monitors vendor access and makes sure vendors follow check-in procedures and maintain video observation of the vendors when in credit union facilities.
• Assist other departments locate and retrieve video footage of identifies incidents or events.
• Maintains availability for observation of ITM maintenance upon request from the branches.
• Anticipate, identify and solve problems. 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adhere to all company policies and legal regulations and remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Acts as the face of the credit union and ensures members and employees are greeted with a smile and enthusiasm.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• One year of prior security experience preferred. 
• Outstanding surveillance and observation skills, with excellent communication skills and the ability to exercise good judgement is required for the position. 
• A working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures is preferred. 
• Knowledge of state laws and regulations and training in First Aid is not required, but is preferred. 
• Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes, and have a driving record that is in compliance with the Credit Union Vehicle Policy. 
• Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulation (BSA/AML) and the policy for compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC). 

Please note: Credit Union 1 does not provide relocation assistance. If selected for an on-site position, candidates will be responsible for relocating to Alaska prior to the agreed upon start date at their own expense.
