Security Guard - Armed jobs in Lowell, MA
Security Guard - Armed provides security and guards buildings, grounds, materials, work sites, or other venues. Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Armed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Armed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically requires Firearms Certification. May require a Security Guard License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Security Guard - Armed works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Security Guards are to conduct thorough bag, suitcase, and storage inspections for all individuals entering the premises. - Utilize metal detectors and conduct wand searches on all individuals to ensure the safety and security of the facility. - Perform interior and exterior patrols to ensure the security of the premises. - Complete detailed incident reports and maintain shift logs as required. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Previous experience in security or a related field is preferred. - Ability to operate metal detectors and conduct searches effectively. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. Additional Requirements: - Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. - Ability to work in various weather conditions. - Excellent observational and attention to detail skills. - Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
