Security Guard - Armed jobs in Binghamton, NY
Security Guard - Armed provides security and guards buildings, grounds, materials, work sites, or other venues. Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Armed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Armed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically requires Firearms Certification. May require a Security Guard License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Security Guard - Armed works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Shifts:
Per Diem, 12 Hour Tours Available
Responsibilities:
-Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
-Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
-Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
-Report in detail any suspicious incidents
-Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter
-Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
-Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment
Skills:
-Proven work experience as a ARMED security guard or relevant position
-Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
-Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
-Surveillance skills and detail orientation
-Integrity and professionalism Current New York State ARMED Security Guard License and relevant training certifications.
Pay Rate: Armed: $35/HR
