Security Director implements overall security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps. Being a Security Director implements staff training and operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Manages and maintains systems, alarms, and other physical security measures. Additionally, Security Director delivers education programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues. Participates in local, state, provincial, or federal working or advisory groups to keep abreast with all security-related information, directives, and events. Leads and directs significant investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies. Possess a broad knowledge of law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related discipline. Typically reports to senior management. The Security Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. DSS Private Security is actively looking for individuals to join our team in the Merced County area:
We are looking for FULL-TIME and PART-TIME STANDING Officers in the Merced County area. The position calls for the candidate to be able to perform walking, standing, and dealing with others throughout their shift. Strong writing skills is required.
Qualified Candidates MUST have the following to apply:
1. Active BSIS Armed Security guard card and Open Carry Permit (Required)
2. Clean criminal background
3. Legal right to work in the United States
4. Valid California Driver License
5. High School Diploma or equivalent
6. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English
7. Must be able to pass a drug screening-Drug Free work environment
8. Must be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verification, Department of Motor Vehicle record check and credit checks (If applicable).
Qualified Candidates should also have the following skills and abilities:
1. Have access to a computer and or smart phone
2. Communicate verbally and in writing for daily written reports
3. Ability to subdue and secure cooperative and uncooperative subjects without doing harm to the subject or themselves.
4. Be able to handle stressful situations with a calm demeanor. The ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively, ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
5. Work independently.
6. Must have a strong work ethic.
7. Current CPR/First Aid Training
Prior Military and or Law Enforcement is a PLUS, but not mandatory.
