Director of Cyber Security

Our client, an Ann Arbor-based global company with over 50 years of success/stability, seeks to add a leadership role with accountability for comprehensive oversight of information security functions with an emphasis on strategic system architecture, risk management, and technical proficiency. Key responsibilities include developing and communicating security strategies, managing risks, implementing security policies and procedures, conducting awareness programs, leading incident response efforts, evaluating security technologies, and managing third-party security relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and communicate the organization's information security strategy, vision, and goals.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate security strategies into business processes and operations.
• Establish and chair the Information Security Steering Committee to ensure alignment of security initiatives with organizational objectives.
• Develop and maintain an information security management framework and supporting processes.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize information security risks.
• Develop and implement a risk management program to manage and mitigate identified risks effectively.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Oversee the development and delivery of information security awareness and training programs for employees.
• Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
• Develop and maintain an incident response plan to address and manage security incidents effectively.
• Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents, conducting post-incident reviews and implementing improvements.
• Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate security technologies, tools, and processes.
• Collaborate with IT team to ensure the integration of security controls into systems development and maintenance.
• Assess and manage the security posture of third-party vendors and partners.
• Ensure that third-party relationships adhere to the organization's security policies and standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification required.
• Proven experience (5 years) in a senior information security leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing information technology team.
• Knowledge of information security management frameworks
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
