Position Overview:

The Director of Security is responsible for the operation of the Security Department by creating, implementing and directing Safety and Security strategies for the protection and safety of Casino patrons, Hotel guests and employees of the Resort and Casino. This includes strategies and operational methods for the safe movement and protection of the Resort and Casino’s assets and property.  All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Mount Airy Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control standards and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.

Qualifications

Essential Job Functions:

• Plans, directs, implements and oversees the activities of the Security Department, including recruitment, employment, training and employee relations and communications.
• Responsible for the implementation and enforcement for the issuance of temporary access credentials.
• In collaboration with the Human Resources Department, the Director of Security is responsible for the design, implementation and enforcement of a system for the issuance of access badges. 
• Responsible for recording any unusual incidents within Mount Airy Casino Resort.
• Responsible for the identification and removal of any person who is required to be excluded or ejected from the facility.
• Prepares a minimum staffing requirement for the Security Department.
• Prepares and determines number of stations to be staffed by security personnel.
• Ensures compliance with all Federal and State laws and the rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
• Maintains a strong personal working relationship with local and State law enforcement members.
• Ensures compliance with all internal controls and company procedures with regards to company assets.
• Works closely with the Surveillance Department to prevent the loss or damage of company assets.
• Ensures all incidents and illegal activities are properly investigated, documented and that proper notification of same is made to the appropriate authorities and company executives.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment.
• Minimum of 5years experience as a shift manager in a high volume complex casino environment or its equivalent.
• Strong organizational and leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and dedicated commitment to excellence.
• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the employees throughout all levels of the Mount Airy Casino Resort.
• Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid license as required by the PA Gaming Control Board.
• Must demonstrate leadership, fairness and sensibility to the customers and employees.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of all Federal and State Laws and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Regulations.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Key License as required by the PGCB.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required with occasional travel.
• Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
