Security Coordinator administers, coordinates, and evaluates security programs that support the strategy, policies, and standards established for the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Compiles data and analyzes results of audits, inspections, daily logs, and incident reports to assess security vulnerabilities, measure program effectiveness, and identify the need for additional resources. Being a Security Coordinator coordinates any required security clearance processing or investigative research for employees or job candidates with applicable entities. Assists with the development of training, education programs, and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is prepared for potential security issues, crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Additionally, Security Coordinator monitors communications and stays informed about local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. May coordinate or assist with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Security Coordinator work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Security Coordinator typically requires 7+ years of related experience.     Travel Required: Occasional as to attend annual convention, seminars, and events; less than 10%   

    Compensation: Salary exempt, based on experience

    Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

    Your Role.

    The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for a variety of duties including administrative functions, contract review, insurance and licensing, compliance management, legal and case management, and general standards auditing.


    What You’ll Do in This Role.

    Franchise Agreements and Legal Document Preparation and Review (70%)

    • Assist with Background and Credit Checks requests on prospective and existing franchisees.
    • Prepare legal agreements for new franchises, territory reallocations, territory sales, transfers, terminations.
    • Manage UCC filings.
    • Create Franchise Agreement files, including both new agreements and renewals.
    • Create franchisee information in HubSpot.
    • Assist Manager and Director in identifying franchise compliance concerns with transitions to ensure alignment with legal requirements.
    • Assist Manager and Director with contract review and legal research.

     

    Licensing (20%)

    • Maintain a high level of understanding of the Security Agency & Officer (Agent) licensing requirements and process in each state or territory.
    • Assist with Quick Reference Guides (QRG) for each state to assist new franchisees in understanding the licensing process in their respective state.
    • Work with franchisees on a regular basis to ensure they are compliant with their state licensing regulations.
    • Stay current on licensing changes in each state which may have implications on business practices and procedures.
    • Ensure that all franchisee licenses are renewed prior to expiration and maintain a list of all franchisee licenses.
    • Work closely with the Franchise Development group prior to the launch process to ensure that the franchisees have completed the licensing process correctly and have the correct paperwork to establish their business entity.

     

    Franchise Disclosure Document (5%)

    • Assist updating the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and files, assist with changes, documents and coordinate with FDD attorney on an annual basis.
    • Ensure all new Franchise candidates have been properly disclosed prior to signing.

     

    Other (5%)

    • Assist Manager & Director with Insurance Captive Company legal records as needed.
    • Conduct effective time management to ensure issues are identified and addressed in a proactive fashion, reports are delivered on time, and attendance is prompt.

    Qualifications/Knowledge:

    • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in relevant field.
    • Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships.
    • Commitment to learning and contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of a dynamic Compliance department.
    • Paralegal or a strong background in contract review a plus.


    Skills/Abilities:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and other relevant computer applications
    • Ensure the organization adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Able to stay updated on all relevant laws to mitigate legal risks for the Company.

    The Office Environment:

    As part of the company, you can expect to work in a standard office setting where there is a positive team atmosphere. Our office is a collaborative space where cross-department projects are frequent. Occasional overtime may be required as business needs dictate. You will have exposure to moderate noise levels and on occasion outside weather conditions (walking between buildings, networking events).
