Secondary Market Manager helps develop, manage, and improve a company's secondary mortgage market operations. Leads a team of analysts to ensure timely and accurate work and provides research and solutions to complex questions or tasks. Being a Secondary Market Manager oversees the company's loan purchases and sales on the secondary market and manages mortgage loan portfolios to balance risk. Reviews performance indicators and utilizes economic data and market trends to determine risk. Additionally, Secondary Market Manager maintains relationships with investors, brokers, and originators to identify and develop new leads and opportunities. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a director. The Secondary Market Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Secondary Market Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job DescriptionAs Market Manager for the German & Vienna Market, the key objective is to expand lastminute.com’s network of hotel partnerships, establishing and maintaining account relationships within this Market. The Market Manager leverages their experience in procurement, e-commerce, revenue management and the hotel/travel/hospitality industry, in order to manage lastminute.com’s hotel market and partnership-related functions. Additionally, the Market Manager is expected to identify trends, source deals, optimise pricing, ensure content competitiveness and identify and secure potential sources of supply to satisfy consumer demand.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild strong supplier relationships and convincingly explain the strategic benefits of working with lastminute.com to grow bookings, revenues and gross profit.Evaluate existing partnerships and determine actions to optimise performanceExecute and track both acquisition and account management activitiesRecommend and execute strategies and promotional activities with German/Vienna hotel partners to maximise accommodation availability and content competitivenessIdentify, prioritise, negotiate, contract and onboard non-participatory hotels, ensuring favourable terms and conditionsConduct ongoing reviews of production with participating hotels and continually present strategic recommendations using a consultative approach to optimise hotel conversion and assist hotel partner hotels in maximising revenue via lastminute.com productsFormulate project ideas, determine where opportunity exists and implement new approachesIdentify supply requirements in terms of product offerings and promotions to meet German/Vienna market demandsIdentify, qualify, contact, counsel, and visit key accounts to grow lastminute.com’s portfolioResearch and troubleshoot rate and availability issues preventing hotels from maximising booking performance; e.g., problems with connectivity, rate mapping, extranet management, etc.Manage listings for new suppliers and renewals with existing partnersTrain and inform hotel partners on lastminute.com’s USP’s, technologies, tools and modelsUse creative thinking to develop and implement solutions to unique challenges, facilitate new product creation or enhancements of existing technology and toolsPrepare presentations and materials to leverage partnershipsAnalyse performance & manage regular weekly/monthly supplier reportsConduct local and/or national training (e.g., account management techniques, best practices, specific areas of business)QualificationsBachelor’s degree in any relevant field or equivalent experienceExperience in e-commerce and/or revenue management, highly preferred within hotel, travel or hospitality industry (especially OTA channels)Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence external/internal stakeholdersAbility to research, prepare and communicate various proposals to potential and current hotel partnersSuccess in acquiring, building and maintaining long-term partnerships Fluent in German, additional languages a plus.
