    Markets Analyst

    We are seeking either a Tier I or Tier II Markets Analyst to join our Market Monitoring team. As a Markets Analyst at Yes Energy you will apply your research and analysis skills across an array of challenges in support of our efforts in nodal power markets; from market research on policy changes and data developments to identifying trends in the industry that may impact our clients. This position offers candidates an opportunity to develop an extensive knowledge of energy markets as they become a subject matter expert in this area. The ideal candidate for this role will have an in-depth understanding of the nodal power markets, including realtime, day ahead and FTR trading, regulatory policies, and transmission grids. This role will build on this expertise by offering insights as to how our data collections are integral to understanding market forces and act as a liaison to clients utilizing our products. We are looking for candidates that are passionate about the future of the energy industry and are excited to become an active participant with our clients and data providers.

    This position can be located in any of our core US offices, including: Boulder, CO, Chicago IL, Boston MA, Richmond VA

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Market Research – Research and document technical and market-related changes across the North American energy markets. Produce reports to help keep Yes Energy staff abreast of all relevant changes.
    • Liaison with Data Providers - Build a direct relationship with ISO and other 3rd party data providers to act as the first point of contact for data changes and technical issues.
    • Client Relations – Help our clients make the very best use of our products and data. Assist customer support by responding to client emails and phone calls as it pertains to Yes Energy data and market insights.
    • Business Requirements Gathering - Assist Data Product Owners in creating technical requirements for new data collections and liaise with the Market Data Operations team to alert to data modifications.
    • Event Research – Research the key drivers of noteworthy pricing events and emerging market trends. Produce reports for internal distribution, conference presentations, and marketing materials.
    • Communication – Coordinate with our Data Product Owner, Product Managers and other stakeholders to effectively communicate policy and publication updates from our data sources

    What you bring to Yes Energy

    • Demonstrated experience with SQL
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience
    • Curiosity and research skills to develop an in-depth expertise in nodal markets
    • Quick study with a strong attention to detail and self-motivated
    • Exceptional communication & presentation skills with ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
    • Willingness to engage with customers and data providers to build working relationships
    • Experience working with relational databases and leveraging data for analysis

    Base Compensation Range: $60,000 - $75,000

    In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is Yes Energy’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
