Summary :

The Scrum Master facilitates the implementation and adoption of agile methodologies used by the development teams who build applications for insurance systems. This role will support the scrum methodology that allows the team to self-organize and make changes quickly, in accordance with the Agile principles that guide the continuous improvement of the way the development team produces value to the organization. The Scrum Master removes impediments, internal and external, to the team and guides the team to an optimum, sustainable velocity. The role facilitates scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives and sprint reviews to maintain team effectiveness while communicating information and metrics to the team on progress against team objectives.

Formal Education Required:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience
• Scrum Master Certification (CSM, CSP, PSM or SAFe SSM) required
• Certified SAFe Agilist SA preferred
• Certified Product Owner CSPO preferred
• Safe Advanced Scrum Master SASM preferred
• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner ACP preferred
• Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt preferred

Experience & Training Required :

• Three (3) years of experience performing same or similar responsibilities. Experience includes performing duties of Scrum Master, business analysis, healthcare operations, quality assurance testing, project management and technical experience.

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of multiple Agile approaches: Scrum, XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
• Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
• Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the scrum approach
• Possesses skill in interpersonal communication to effectively interact with business partners on various software and non-technical problems.
• Possesses written communication skills to compose materials for business partners.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of member, employee and financial records.
• Ability to work well within team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with departmental team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods and/or reduce costs.
• Ability to understand application functionality and how it relates to departments.
• Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
