Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Assistant Research Scientist will prepare datasets combining variables from different sources, primarily data from the New York State HIV Surveillance system and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. The incumbent will conduct statistical and epidemiologic analyses of large confidential datasets using SAS and assist in the preparation of fact sheets/infographics, tables, graphs, posters, reports, presentations, and publications using Microsoft Office and other appropriate software. The incumbent will also conduct literature reviews suitable to the project. Other appropriate related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of research experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong data analysis and data management experience, particularly with large datasets. Knowledge of SAS. Familiarity with epidemiological research methods. Experience evaluating data quality, conducting data analysis, producing, and synthesizing results for written reports.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
