The Bureau of Field Operations is responsible for the survey and certification process of health care facilities across the State of Florida. These surveys ensure that all state licensed, and federally certified health care facilities meet the established state and/or federal requirements and patients and residents receive safe, quality health care. Field Operations staff also ensure the safety of residents in health care facilities when emergencies such as natural disasters occur.
The Work You'll Do:
This position may require extensive travel, including significant overnight travel.
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.
The primary function of this position is to provide a high level of professional expertise to a complex multi-program survey process. This survey process will include all responsibilities for state licensure of medical laboratories in Florida and also include responsibilities for the certification requirements to participate under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). This position will be required to conduct on-site inspections of clinical laboratories, performing these duties as a team member, or individually as assigned. The incumbent will document findings and complete written reports of survey findings. Other duties may include inspections of other health care providers and development of technical reports and training, as assigned.
The incumbent must be proficient with computer equipment and software programs, such as Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as smart phone technology.
The incumbent must also be available to work before and after normal work hours including weekends and holidays.
