JOB SUMMARY:
Exhibits leadership, mentoring of less experienced scientists and active hands-on lab work.
Leads New Product Development projects.
Provides recommendations to lab leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. 40% : Formulation and Commercialization of New Products and Assimilation of Acquired Products and Technologies.
2. 25% : Provide Technical Support for existing products
3. 15% : Provide Coaching, Mentoring, Leading as appropriate
4. 10% : Organization, cleaning and recordkeeping
5. 10% : Travel
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Industry Presence
a. Grow toward an Outward Facing Voice and Technical Representative of the company
b. Provide Participation and Leadership in Technical Associations such as ASTM, CPI, CRC and the like
c. Travel with Sales Leaders to watch, listen to WRM customers, end users and influencers
2. Cross Functional Support
a. Provide ideas and advice to other scientists and lab members as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Formulation Skills
2. Experience and chemical familiarity with at least 3 of the following coatings types:
a. Waterborne Acrylics
b. Silicones
c. 1K Polyurethanes
d. 2K Polyurethanes
3. Processing Familiarity
4. Computer program utilization
5. Root Cause Analysis
6. Quality Minded
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. B.S. Degree, or higher, in a Scientific Field - Required
2. Minimum of 7 Years of Coatings Formulation and Product Launches
