Job Responsibilities:
- Generate technical scopes of work, cost estimates, and client proposals.
- Coordinate with clients and manage outside subcontractors.
- Prepare Sampling & Analysis Plans (SAPs) and Site Investigation Reports (SIRs) in accordance with ADEC Rules and Regulations.
- Oversee, manage, and conduct field activities, including drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, and Underground storage tank (UST) closures & excavations.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Conduct Due Diligence Evaluations including Transaction Screens, Phase I, and Phase II ESAs in accordance with ASTM Standards.
- Prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Categorical Exclusions (CE) and Environmental Assessments (EA).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, including Phase II Subsurface Investigations/Site Investigations and/or other sampling projects.
Skills:
- Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports and documents.
- Ownership of full project life from proposal generation to project close-out and invoicing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
- This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to travel and mobilize to project locations throughout Southeast Alaska and perform work during all weather conditions.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training preferred.
- AUTOCAD and/or GPS and GIS experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Knowledge of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) and Federal Guidance, Rules and Regulations.
Compensation: Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.
