School Superintendent directs and manages a school district. Oversees all aspects of the district's operational policies, objectives, initiatives. Being a School Superintendent is responsible for the attainment of short- and long-term financial and operational goals for the school system. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, School Superintendent typically reports to top management. May require a master's degree. The School Superintendent manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a School Superintendent typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Secretary (Superintendent/School Board): To assure the smooth and efficient operations of the Superintendent’s office and Board processes and procedures for maximum positive impact on the education of students.
Public Relations: To implement the district’s communication plans and strategies to continually enhance the relationship between the district and staff, students, parents, and community by providing consistent, reliable, timely and engaging information via a variety of outreach methods.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
