POSITION: Bus Driver – Substitute (Casual/Seasonal)

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Transportation

LOCATION: Transportation

CLOSING DATE: Until Filled

START DATE: To Be Determined

WORK YEAR: 10 Months

COMPENSATION: $23.67

POSITION GOAL:
Safely transport students to and from school and school related functions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid license for at least one year.
• Must complete school bus driver classroom training.
• Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers’ License with passenger and school bus endorsement. Will assist with obtaining proper license and permits.
• No more than five (5) points on driver record.
• No conviction for Driving Under Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, or suspension, revocation, or license disqualification for moving violations, in the past five years.
• Must not have ever been convicted of a Class A or Class B felony, or a felony based on causing death, a felony sexual offense, or a felony against public administration.
• Must not have had any portion of the sentence for any other felony conviction extending into the last five years.
• Must not have ever been convicted of any crime against a child.
• Must not have ever been convicted of any drug-related crime.
• Must pass a successful background check including child protection registry.
• Must pass a successful pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have TB testing (initially) and school bus driver physical (initially and annually).
• Previous employer verification and work history of all driver positions in past 10 years.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:

• Criminal Background Check- must be less than 1 year old
• TB Test Results- must be less than 1 year old
• Copy of signed Social Security Card- required by State of Delaware; you will be able to upload copy directly into your Onboarding packet
• I-9 From with appropriate forms of identifications
• Child Protection Registry
