Description

Waccamaw Dermatology is searching for a full scheduler for a growing scheduling department.

This position schedules patients for multiple locations. A Scheduler will serve as the coordinator for schedules and appointments between doctors and patients. Schedulers must listen to the needs of the person requesting the appointment in order to determine the amount of time the appointment will require and then find the time that works best for both the patient and the medical professional. They should be professional and have the ability to manage multiple calls. Schedulers also manage cancelations, including a doctor who may need to reschedule a full day, finding the best alternatives for all involved. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Answer phone calls and e-mails, greeting patients and prospective patients and reminding them of upcoming appointments 
• Add, cancel or make changes to appointments in the organization's schedule 
• Resolve appointment conflicts 
• Liaise and coordinate with health care professionals about schedules, patients and any changes 
• Responsible for managing phone calls from patients, family members and referral sources in a call center setting to accurately and efficiently schedule outpatient clinic appointments in the appropriate electronic medical record (EMR)
• Communicate with team members including providers, clinical teams and clerical staff to ensure accurate scheduling
• Act as the liaison between medical professionals and patients while adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
• Relay messages between patients, patient family members, medical professionals, and other team members utilizing appropriate messaging processes in the EMR
• Provide accurate instructions to patients for completion of paperwork, online patient portal and our messaging system
• Promote customer service skills with all patients including physicians, other staff members and family members to achieve positive outcomes
• Display kindness and be open to providing scheduling accommodations to patients 
• Fulfill the company's standards and values when performing scheduling tasks

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years experience in customer service, required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work established hours; Weekdays- mornings till 7pm, Saturdays - mornings to 3pm
• Ability to travel between Myrtle Beach area offices as needed 
• Basic computer program knowledge and ability to learn new technologies as needed
• Excellent communication skills in customer service setting
• Experience working effectively as part of a team 
• Have an eye for detail and organization
• Ability to perform more than one task at a time and solve problems quickly 
• Professional voice in person and over the phone

Preferred Experience:

• A Minimum of two (2) years experience in a medical office setting, preferred
• Prior scheduling experience, preferred
• EMA (EHR)experience, preferred
