    Associate Director, Marketing Analytics

     

    AMP is searching for an experienced marketing mind to join our growing Analytics team. Aspiring candidates should have a passion for the power of data, critical thinking, storytelling, and cross-team collaboration. The Associate Director will work closely with our Media and Strategy teams, and have a visible position within the agency; leading a subset of our team across several key accounts, and contributing to the evolution of our agency’s measurement program.

    Requirements/Skills:

     

    • Between 5-7 years of agency or brand-side marketing analytics experience, inclusive of web and media analytics work.
    • A history of operating in client-facing or communication-focused roles where measurement strategy, technical implementations, presentation and storytelling were key responsibilities.
    • Strong critical-thinking capabilities; including the ability to clearly articulate the “why” and the “what next” of a performance insight.
    • Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
    • Experience with a tag management solution (e.g. GTM, Tealium).
    • Advanced working knowledge of key web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics).
    • Advanced working knowledge of key platforms and data types in the marketing space; specifically, media ad-serving data (e.g. DCM, DV360), and social platform data (e.g. Facebook/Instagram, Pinterest).
    • Experience with at least one data analysis/visualization tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Data Studio) is required.
    • Working knowledge of database concepts (e.g. granularity, primary keys, foreign keys, joins) is required.
    • Experience with presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint, Keynote) is required.
    • Experience with an attribution technology provider (e.g. Visual IQ, C3) is a plus.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Act as the Strategic Lead on several key agency accounts – providing mentorship and guidance to the internal team, and serving as a trusted partner to primary client stakeholders.
    • Collaborate closely with client and internal teams to develop measurement strategy, data strategy, insight generation, integrated cross-channel storytelling, and analytics program evolution.
    • Act as a technical resource to implement tracking and data flows required to support data strategy.
    • Manage and mentor junior team members, with a focus on skill/career development and “working smart”.
    • Contribute to the evolution of our team, including best practices, ways-of-working, and core competencies.

    Job Purpose

     

    The Associate Director Market Research & Analytics serves as the business leader responsible for all Market Research & Analytics services and support activities and provides leadership of the Market Research & Analytics team while providing accountability for the company’s strategic goals. Primary role is to provide strategic development and program planning of all events and special projects in order to drive the achievement of budgeted revenue targets and grow the business through new value propositions, with and through a team of direct and indirect reports. The Market Research & Analytics is high visibility position responsible for the direction and management of Market Research & Analytics, including; Data Collection, Analysis, Interpretation, Application, proposal creation and delivery, and Client and Cross Functional team leadership.

     

     

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    Managing Market Research & Analytics within the Sales Ecosystem

    •Work closely with VP Client Services to align and prioritize Market Research & Analytics activities to support sales and EBITDA goals•Work closely with VP Client Services / Cross Functional teams to ensure customer’s expectations are met and overall business plans and strategies are achieved•Work closely with Strategy team to collectively pull together the insights and reporting necessary to build business cases, recap current programs or support new business opportunities   •Build and manage internal cross-functional teams of subject matter experts and/or to ensure Market Research & Analytics business wins•Present strategic frameworks for brands/categories/strategic initiatives based on a customer-centric approach that is rooted in market research, category business analysis, etc.•Target opportunities for growth, support the development of winning proposals, and maintain opportunity momentum to expand client revenue and connectivity •Conduct store or event checks while programs are executing to better understand the in store execution and opportunities to improve

     

    Client and Cross Functional Leadership 

    •Travel to customer and client locations to participate in key meetings to obtain valuable onsite knowledge of team dynamics, and customer and client operations. •Work with internal client and external customer to identify insights and define solutions for customers that drive brand/category/channel growth for client•Work with Leadership and Cross Functional Teams to gather and monitor client intelligence, build client executive business relationships and resource alignment

     

    Market Research/Analytics 

    •Strengthen market research and analytical skills through increased usage, obtaining training or partnering with client or Cross functional teams on best practices, new capabilities/systems or specific technology  •Ensure that all recommended program concepts and ideas are rooted in market research and solid analytics•Manage the analysis process for current year activity to help drive development of future plans•Determine purpose and research questions to be answered through market research by communicating with client management teams•Collect and analyze secondary data sources to create and/or answer market research and business objectives•Develop methodology, create surveys and administer the survey to the sample.•Present market research findings in written and/or oral reports to client management teams

     

    Project/Client Management and Support 

    •Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, and conferring with management•Define major business opportunities by prioritizing information to support the goals of our Clients, Customers, and Company•Manage, build and maintain ongoing strategic and collaborative relationships and category management activities

     

    Data Collection/Analysis/Interpretation/Application

    •Determine and quantify primary business opportunities and key drivers by analyzing data•Provide information for Clients, Customers, and Business Development Managers through the use of syndicated or customer-specific data sources•Finalize all data and organizing sales story for presentation to Clients, Customers and/or Business Development Manager •Presentation Delivery with communication of business opportunities and recommended action plans

     

    Coaching for Results

    •Observe team member behavior to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement•Balance corrective with positive feedback to ensure optimum guidance and performance improvement•Leverage motivation as a key enabler of client performance•Demonstrate and mentors expected service behaviors

    Field of Study/Area of Experience: 

    - 8 years of experience in Strategy Development, Project Management, Client Services & Managing a Team
