Position Summary
The Inside Sales Engineer acts as the liaison between internal sales personnel, customers, and suppliers as LONG works to bid and work projects. This position combines technical knowledge and sales skills by analyzing the needs of customers by conducting takeoffs and estimates for building automation systems, tracking quotas and vendor activities, and communicating specifications to Sales Engineers and appropriate technicians. This position is critical to the accurate and competitive pricing of various jobs LONG engages in.
Pay Range
$65,000 - $72,000 based on experience, plus commission.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates bidding activity for the week with sales team
- Maintains accuracy of CRM database for BI team on a daily/weekly basis
- Collaborates with sales team on follow up and sales forecasting via CRM
- Provides periodic (monthly) updates to Sales Manager and Sales Team as to quota, sales forecast and vendor activity
- Assists Sales Engineers with take-offs, pricing, and bidding of jobs
- Works closely with Sales Engineers and project managers in preparation of Change Orders for booked jobs
- Prepare cost estimates utilizing estimating software and detailed scope of work proposals, for Building Automation Systems as directed by Sales Management and sales team
- Prepares booking packages to ensure timely completion of jobs and smooth transition to Operations
- Pursues “Prior Approvals” for jobs where LONG not specified as equal
- Assists sales team with preparation of RFPs as directed
Required Qualifications
- Associates of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or 2 years tech school and 3 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience or 3 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management engineering, installation, and construction procedures
- Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft applications
- Complete thorough and detailed work with accuracy and consistency
- Ability to make decisions, dispose of problems, and complete thoroughly detailed work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel to include department and project managers, engineers, sales personnel, and service and control technicians
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability
Working Conditions
Environment:
- An Inside Sales Engineer may work indoors, office environment
