Purpose: Achieve the profitable bookings and gross profit sales goals of Mestek Machinery, complying with all company profiles and procedures using a customer centric sales approach.
As an integral component of the sales department and transactional team, the Sales Engineer will be talking directly with customers, reviewing specifications, developing detailed quotations, collaborating with engineering for proposal drawings and providing cost information to the outside sales managers to assist in negotiation and help close deals.
Responsible for representing the family of Mestek Machinery companies to prospects and customers. Maintains effective communications with all internal personnel including other Sales Engineers, internal Mechanical and Electrical design engineers, service team, and various managers to ensure proper support of client needs and flow of information into the group's marketing and development teams.
Responsibilities:
Sales
Prepare Sales Quotations with detailed cost background.
Work closely with engineering and sales personnel to ensure closure of the potential sale and maximize profits according to established company financial objectives.
Maintain price and cost sheets, with consideration for company profitability goals.
Review with engineering the developmental roadmap for new products and determine a process of implementing into quoting process.
Update & maintain machine spec sheets.
Work with internal Accounting & Sales Managers to review market pricing and support desired gross profit.
Review customer need and contract writing to assess additional or future sales and manage company risk.
Evaluate the sale for possible risk assessment and management.
Develop new processes and best practices for the sales team.
Work with Engineering and other Sales employees to develop line concepts, employing creative techniques to implement new ideas and sales concepts.
Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, salesforce.com. Integrating new sales techniques, processes, and configuring products in Salesforce
