Sales Director directs sales organization operations and develops the tactics, operational plans, and processes to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization's operations. Being a Sales Director oversees goal setting for departmental and group levels of the sales organization and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. Implements methods and systems to effectively analyze and monitor the industry, business environment, and competitors and expand the customer base. Additionally, Sales Director uses market and customer insights to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products. Builds effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and development programs. May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Sales Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Sales Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     We at Giri Management, a fast-growing Hotel Management Co, are seeking an experienced Dual - Property Hotel Director of Sales selling for the Harraseeket Inn & Sebasco Harbor Resort and based at the Harraseeket Inn.

    The dual-property Director of Sales is responsible for driving sales revenue, mentoring their sales team, and creating a property wide sales culture at both of their properties.

    This person will work extensively together and in partnership with their Revenue Manager(s) on a daily basis while also conducting inside and outside prospecting calls. This person will be responsible for maintaining sales organization, prospecting for new business and meeting or exceeding revenue goals for their hotel.

    This person must always provide a high level of guest satisfaction. This person must have extremely strong communication and organizational skills and an outgoing personality with a "can do" attitude. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. This is a busy sales office environment, and the ideal candidate will have a lot of energy, a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.

    Dual Hotel Property - Director of Sales responsibilities and duties:

    Financial Returns:

    · Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel marketing plan and business plan, and financial plans.

     

    · Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales.

     

    · Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.

     

    · Participate in the weekly revenue calls for their assigned hotels to provide insight and answers for any sales related questions and be in tune with the revenue manager & hotel team on revenue strategy.

    People:

    · Manage day-to-day sales activities, plan, and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognize good performance.

     

    · Educate and train sales team that is responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts and implementing sales strategies. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to perform job duties.

     

    · Work with other department managers to ensure proper staffing levels based on guest volume.

    Guest Experience:

    · Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programs, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.

     

    · Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet services.

     

    · Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.

    Responsible Business:

    · Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with appropriate department on solutions.

     

    · Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.

     

    · Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.

    · General Manager & Regional VP of Operations & Corporate Director of Sales

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    · Strong Organization and Communication skills

    · Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook

    · Delphi, SalesPro or other Sales Software experience a Plus

    · Strong typing skill are a plus

    · Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment

    · Ability to prioritize multiple priorities and meet deadlines

    Education and Experience:

    · College Degree a plus but will accept a combination of some college and relevant hotel sales experience.

    · Minimum of 2 years of hotel Director of Sales experience
