Associates, Bachelor’s or Paralegal degree/certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- A diverse background and competency in various practice areas is ideal such as employment law
with a strong background in business and commercial litigation.
- Highly organized with strong communication skills and superior attention to detail.
- Able to take direction and work independently with little supervision.
- Sound working knowledge of the legal system and procedures.
- Advanced skills with a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Products,
databases, Adobe Acrobat, and legal accounting software programs.
- Familiarity with various court services including e-filing.
Responsibilities of the Legal Assistant
- Provide legal support to three or more attorneys.
- Complete administrative duties: scanning, answering phone calls, coordinating appointments,
drafting, revising, proofreading documents, and managing legal documentation and
correspondence.
- Directly communicate with clients.
- Facilitate communication between the lawyers with clients, financial institutions, courts, and
governmental agencies.
