In the Food Safety Quality Technician role you will be responsible for supporting product quality and safety of products produced and communicate non-compliances to operational management. You will verify and document regulatory programs (HACCP, SSOP, GMP and product labeling) and follow and comply with company procedures and policies set forth by management team and customer specifications.
Primary Job Functions
This section describes the primary/essential responsibilities that this job performs.
1. Conduct Internal Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)/ Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) walk throughs.
2. Conduct shelf-life studies on new products and to verify current shelf-life.
3. Conduct environmental sampling for common foodborne illness pathogens and trend data overtime to look for trends using swabbing and water sampling techniques.
4. Conduct hazard assessments and keep inventory on food safety and occupational safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by working with vendors and team members.
5. Complete internal auditing of the HACCP plan for harvesting and process flows.
6. Collaborate with Quality Assurance Manager on Safe Quality Food (SQF) third party audits, DATCP audits and USDA Organic audits by completing supporting food documents such as Approved Supplier Programs, Incoming Shipment Logs, equipment calibration records, product specification sheets, etc.
7. Facilitate training on various food safety and quality procedures to entire team.
8. Comply with company bio-security plans, food safety requirements, and standard operating procedures related to all tasks.
9. Safe and proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
10. Daily cleaning of tools, equipment, and work areas.

Job Qualifications
Education:
· High School Diploma with general undergraduate coursework, required

1. Typically Monday – Friday, 5 am to 1:30 pm, but may include some evenings or weekends if necessary.
