Job Summary:
This role is a salary, non-exempt role reporting directly to the Safety Superintendent of RAM Enterprise, Inc. The selected candidate will be responsible for safety processes and related programs at RAM Enterprise, Inc. The selected candidate will be responsible for educating employees on Federal and State safety regulations, coordinating and directing safety and related legal activities (MSHA, OSHA, and DOT), and representing the Company with outside agencies and inspectors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform as a Safety Leader on field service jobs as required by actively monitoring and auding work processes and practice for safety compliance and provide mentorship to assure safety compliance.
- Priority on assisting lead supervision and RAM team members with hazard recognition.
- Assist and lead incident and accident investigation. Prepare and communicate findings and recommend corrective actions on all safety issues, implement strategies to control immediate risks in the workplace and help find solutions to safety and health problems.
- Assist with accurate reporting of all incidents into approved system and development of flash, summary, senior leadership review reports as required.
- Serve as a resource or facilitator for incident investigations; ICAM or 5 Why analysis to ensure that all incidents are accurately investigated to determine root cause. Assist with development of meaningful and effective correction actions to prevent recurrence of safety incidents.
- Ensure effective reviews are conducted on corrective actions with participation of management and hourly personnel in the area or division.
- Develop and conduct training for governing agencies such as MSHA/OSHA/DOT for RAM employees and coordinate employees’ hazard and site-specific training.
- Support and/or facilitate Formal Risk Assessments by developing and monitoring action plans.
- Work with all employees and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company S&H standards and systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in databases.
- Maintain and sustain active involvement with division safety team, committees.
- Actively participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and other training sessions.
- Must be willing and able to work a variety of scheduled on-call, including day/night shifts, weekend, and holidays.
- Other job duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One to five years’ experience in safety related field. Fundamental understanding in Occupational Health.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft platform, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Demonstrated experience in accident prevention, safety auditing, safety/health compliance, and performance as a safety technical advisor.
- Ability to provide accurate interpretation of MSHA and mining safety regulations.
- Knowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practices.
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all personnel.
- Possess good communication skills, i.e., written, verbal and listening.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate health and safety related risks
- Preferred Blue Card Holder and/or training experience
- Bi-lingual, preferred not required
Criteria/Conditions:
- Work is performed in various industrial settings, including shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
- While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) during the workday.
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
