Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Project Details:

    Food Safety and Sensory Improvements

    • Working closely with our Food Safety & Sensory team on improvements throughout our Pocatello, ID manufacturing facility.
    • This intern will work on different types of validations, namely microwave and/or oven.
    • Various auditing opportunities, such as electronic batch auditing and process/equipment auditing; training will be provided.
    • Compile and update data in various platforms, such as the WIP Spec Smartsheet and the Meal Spec Binders on the lines.
    • Project mentorship with the Manager of Quality Food Systems.

     

     

     

    Qualifications and Skills

    EDUCATION

    • Attending four-year college or university to attain Bachelor's degree (B.S., or B.A.); or already awarded Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university. Ideally in Food or Biological Sciences. 

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Microsoft Suite, including experience with pivot tables, data entry, etc.
    • Smartsheet experience preferred.
    • Needs to have good attention to detail. 
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, project leadership, analytical, and reasoning skills.
    • Self-starter, proactive, and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with a sense of urgency.

     

    SKILLS

     

    Language Skills

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
    • Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders.

     

    Mathematical Skills

    • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
    • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

     

    Reasoning Ability

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
