Reeds Ferry Sheds is currently seeking a safe-minded, proactive, critical thinker to join our team as a Safety Director. We would like the Safety Director to review the policies and procedures we have in place and then work with our team to develop and improve them to promote and ensure effective safety operations throughout the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Help cultivate a safety-first company culture.
- Provide leadership, recommendations and assistance to Management and Foremen, regarding job site hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation and safe material utilization.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors, inspectors, and company personnel.
- Supervise current Safety Manager and coordinate his schedule to ensure best utilization of time and resources.
- Remains current on federal, state and local safety regulations. Keeps management advised of new or revised regulations and their projected impact.
- Organizes and prepares the delivery of weekly safety meetings and various training throughout the year.
- Participate with onboarding of new employees to conduct or coordinate new hire safety orientation training, as needed, related to their position.
- Reviews, tracks and documents that safety policies and procedures are being applied consistently and upheld throughout the company and maintains personnel safety records.
- Conducts walk-through inspections of field job sites and company owned property to ensure employees are following safe work procedures.
- Anticipates, identifies, evaluates and communicates potential hazardous safety conditions and risks.
- Ensures that the root cause analysis of near miss incidents or accidents is understood and proactively drives corrective actions quickly.
- Chairs and facilitates the joint loss management committee.
- Ensures compliance with corporate worker’s compensation program including working with internal personnel and our insurance team, to effectively investigate and resolve claims in an expeditious and cost-effective manner.
- Assist in other duties related to the ongoing operations of the company as they arise.
Who You Are:
- You display a positive attitude and are able to work in a team environment.
- You have the ability to multi-task and have a keen eye for detail.
- You have familiarity with the tools, machines and equipment used in our field.
- You have excellent time management skills, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer knowledge - specifically the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. The use of QuickBooks and/or Epicor Kinetic are helpful but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and implement company and OSHA safety regulations and standards.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Hour Certifications.
- Forklift Certification or ability to get certified.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Past supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required. Plus at least five years of occupational health and safety experience in a construction or industrial environment is required. 10 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Safety certifications such as CSHO, CHST, ASP, or CSP are highly regarded and are strongly considered.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and an excellent benefits package including:
- Salary range is $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 depending on experience.
