Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, understand and be able to interpret OSHA regulations, Company EHS Policy and any other federal, state, local laws and/or regulations. Candidate must be able to work within a construction environment with trades personnel. Candidate must be able to work in temperature extremes as work is outside at times. Candidate must be familiar and able to identify, correct and mitigate hazards on jobsites. Candidate must perform and document all aspects of jobsite safety including jobsites reports, OSHA documents, jobsite inspections, jobsite safety plans, etc. Candidate must be familiar with confined space entry, attendant, supervisor responsibilities. Candidate must be capable of performing confined space rescue procedures. Position is an hourly paid position. Overtime is available. Position is with a construction company. EMT Certificate, CPR/AED certificate, Confined Space Rescue Training certs and any other Safety certifications are preferred. Candidate must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening test.
