SAFETY MANAGER plans and manages the general health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures of the organization. Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Being a SAFETY MANAGER designs and directs safety training programs to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Develops worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Additionally, SAFETY MANAGER studies, identifies, and reports causes of past accidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. Requires a bachelor's degree of occupational safety and health or related degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The SAFETY MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Job Purpose:
Responsible for the reporting, investigation, and settlement of casualty (GL) claims and guest property claims such as valet and personal property losses. Interfaces and coordinates with Third Party Administrator, claims adjusters and defense counsel for all litigated claims. Tracks all risk management program costs for the property; plans, develops, implements, and trains employees on company safety programs. Oversees employee safety committees and safety awareness/promotion campaigns. Ensures that the property is in full compliance with all local, state, and federal (OSHA) Occupational Safety and Health Administration codes and regulations. Conducts regular programmed safety inspections for the purpose of hazard identification and fire and life safety audits. Coordinates and aligns company risk management strategies with personal and property goals and objectives.
