SAFETY MANAGER plans and manages the general health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures of the organization. Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Being a SAFETY MANAGER designs and directs safety training programs to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Develops worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Additionally, SAFETY MANAGER studies, identifies, and reports causes of past accidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. Requires a bachelor's degree of occupational safety and health or related degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Site Safety Manager to join our team. As a Site Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day safety operations at construction sites, ensuring and enforcing safety compliance within the job site and communicating with general contractors, subcontractors and owners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Environment, Health, Safety and construction safety.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA and DOB standards
- Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to minimize risk and promote occupational health
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Coordinate construction logistics
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of projects
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Manage documentation related to permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular meetings with site personnel to address any concerns or issues
Requirements:
- DOB Site Safety Manager license
- FDNY Construction Site Fire Safety Manager (S-56)
- 62 Hour SST card
