SAFETY MANAGER plans and manages the general health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures of the organization. Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Being a SAFETY MANAGER designs and directs safety training programs to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Develops worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Additionally, SAFETY MANAGER studies, identifies, and reports causes of past accidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. Requires a bachelor's degree of occupational safety and health or related degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The SAFETY MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     This is a fantastic opportunity for the safety minded individual who is looking to take their knowledge and leadership skills to the next level. As the Assistant Manager of Safety, you will report directly to the Director of Safety. You will play a vital role in promoting and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Your expertise and guidance will help create a culture of safety excellence within the entire company.


    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
    • Conduct safety training programs for current employees and assist with part of the new employee onboarding process.
    • Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
    • Investigate and report accidents and near-miss incidents.
    • Collaborate with department managers to develop corrective action plans.


    Essential Job Functions:

    • Oversee and implement the company's safety programs and initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
    • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding safety protocols.
    • Maintain and update safety records and documentation.
    • Conduct safety meetings and communicate safety-related updates to the team.
