SAFETY MANAGER plans and manages the general health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures of the organization. Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Being a SAFETY MANAGER designs and directs safety training programs to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Develops worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Additionally, SAFETY MANAGER studies, identifies, and reports causes of past accidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. Requires a bachelor's degree of occupational safety and health or related degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The SAFETY MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Summary:

    The Production Manager is a key leader who is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing commitments are met safely, on time and with the highest level of quality.

    The Production Manager will plan and organize various departments and processes, while allocating appropriate staff, to ensure customer commitments are delivered on time. This role provides hands-on line supervision to a diverse team for production and warehouse staff. The Production Manager gathers data, observes production processes, and uses metrics and process monitors to predict and plan continuous improvement opportunities. Responsible for identifying, collaborating, and implementing enhancements to production efficiencies, resource planning and training needs, line layouts, equipment optimization, and quality initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan and direct production department activities to ensure that orders are fulfilled on time, per quality control standards, and within customer specifications.
    • Manage supply planning and inventory strategy for multiple SKU’s.
    • Responsible for safety, quality, productivity, and cost to achieve positive results.
    • Prioritize production schedules to best meet customer needs.
    • Coordinate production activities to optimize utilization of staffing, machines, and materials.
    • Review and sign off on work orders.
    • Respond to quality trends on the production floor.
    • Employs the right tools at the right time for effective problem solving.
    • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement improved operating methods/procedures.
    • Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, full training, motivation, and performance management of employees.
    • Create and maintain a positive culture at the forefront of their focus and foster a great working environment.
    • Manage employee-related matters and oversee employee cross-training.
    • Ensure employees follow established company policies and procedures.
    • Travel as needed to trade shows and other events to further company goals.
    • Perform other project and business-related responsibilities as directed.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management position.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility.
    • Exceptional leadership skills to lead a team and drive results.
    • Uses leadership skills and solid manufacturing and supervision knowledge to gain credibility to affect positive changes.
    • Applies a solid understanding of appropriate employee supervision practices, performance management, basic discrimination laws, and company policies and procedures.
    • Uses a methodical and holistic approach to problem solving, while selecting and using the appropriate tools to aid the process.
    • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrates proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and experience using MRP/ERP systems.
    • Uses a high degree of self-awareness to modify leadership and communication styles to meet differing needs.
    • Understands and applies knowledge of cultural differences and communication styles.
    • Able to overcome obstacles and difficult interactions to achieve a positive, win-win outcome.
    • Conveys a positive, professional, and engaging demeanor that inspires teamwork and commitment.
    • Actively pursues continued education and professional development.
    • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
