SAFETY MANAGER plans and manages the general health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures of the organization. Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Being a SAFETY MANAGER designs and directs safety training programs to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Develops worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Additionally, SAFETY MANAGER studies, identifies, and reports causes of past accidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. Requires a bachelor's degree of occupational safety and health or related degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The SAFETY MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. POSITION SUMMARY
Safety Marking is looking to bring on an IT manager to be responsible for operating SMC’s overall IT environment and leading future technology initiatives. Current IT environment includes the Servers, Storage, Networks, and Telecom systems as well as the applications and systems which directly support the SMC business. In addition to IT operations activities, he/she will actively contribute to the technology research, procurement, configuration, deployment, and continuous enhancement of new IT systems. The IT Manager also acts as Business Relationship Manager for all IT offerings and maintains an active partnership with local management teams and department heads. SMC is going through a significant digital transformation; and this “first of its kind” role is a reflection of the importance and priority placed on this initiative.
The IT function reports into our CFO and will likely grow into a small team in 2025. The ideal candidate has broad technical expertise, combined with a high “bias for action”, strong “project management” skills, and exceptional communication capabilities to enable SMC growth and success in the years to come.
